Demolition Process on Schedule

SPS continues its demolition efforts, which are on schedule.  An overview of the demolition and air monitoring plans can be found here.

As part of the demolition process, SPS is using atomizing misting machines (using water only) to assist in controlling potential fugitive dust.  As demolition activities approach the buildings adjacent to Highland Ave., some water mist may be visible.  If you have questions or concerns, please use the contact section. 

Highland Avenue will be closed for up to two weeks beginning in mid-August to safely remove the buildings/structures along the street.  SPS’s contractor will endeavor to complete the work as quickly as possible, and the street will be reopened as soon as safely possible.  More details will be shared in the coming days.

Air and outfall monitoring continues.  Monitoring results remain stable, with no detections of chemicals or other parameters at levels of concern in the community.
